Jobs in blue America also disproportionately rely on national R&D investment, technology leadership, and services exports. By contrast, Republicans represent an economic base situated in the nation’s struggling small towns and rural areas. Even if Biden won with a comfortable majority, including the Senate, his administration would be like others: a representative of big business, making cosmetic changes if the declining economy allowed, hawkish, and imperialist.
