Thousands of Britons to Have Welfare Income Cut by More Than 60%

“Tens of thousands of Britons are set to lose almost two-thirds of their income as a result of welfare cuts announced by Sir Keir Starmer’s government, according to Financial Times calculations.  “Tougher eligibility for personal independence payments (Pips) and incapacity benefits will mean some people now in line to receive £15,000 a year, excluding housing support, will instead receive just £5,400 — a drop of 64 per cent “Changes to the assessment for Pips will mean people qualify for the daily living payment only if they face major barriers to performing everyday tasks. And more than two-thirds said they had cut back on activities like clubs and trips." (bbc online) The refugees fault? Too many foreigners breeding like rabbits? Higher education is already elitist, why not making all education elitist, i.e. only for those who can afford it?  These capitalists cannot afford even to be Keynesians. They have the money for wars and bombs. They tell us our aid and charities, and missionaries, are helping poor people in Africa and elsewher...
France Cuts in corporate tax (that's assuming corporations are paying taxes). How is that even Nordic, Financial Times? One of the things that made Sweden as it is today was that the Social Democrats in the country imposed 40% corporate tax. Slashing of 150,000 jobs and cuts in public spending? The recipe is more riots and more burning of cars. Thos who will lose their jobs could join the police to face the riots :) Whether a right-wing or a far-right government, France will be heading towards serious social conflicts.
