Sunak: Another Representative of British Imperialism

During a Conservative Friends of Israel event in August, Sunak said there was a  “very strong case”  for the UK moving its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and recognise the latter as Israel’s capital.  Sunak  opposed  the labelling of Israel as an apartheid state. “Like any nation, Israel is not perfect - but it is a vibrant multi-ethnic democracy with a free press and the rule of law. It stands as a shining beacon of hope in a region of autocracies and religious extremists.” “He would want to see maximum sanctions put on to see whether Iran could be persuaded or forced into a wider agreement that goes beyond just the nuclear programme," Fox said. He  announced plans  to treat those who “vilify Britain” as extremists to be referred to the controversial counter-terrorism programme.  **** And as usual, most Brits will be complicit in the British regime’s criminal actions. And more than usual, they will be busy with their immediate meeds, the cost of living, etc. turning a blind

What is the Logic Behind Israel’s Attack on Gaza?

“ Seeking rational explanations for Israel's strange behaviour may be superfluous , because the best explanation may come from the world of social psychology. Israeli society no longer sees the occupation at all - because the status quo appears to Israelis as normal and natural. And, under these circumstances, Israel is bewildered every time this situation arouses resistance.”

The U.S. in the Middle East

“ In short, the political economy of the Abraham Accords may serve as the new anchor of a regional security arrangement that is US-stamped, but no longer necessarily directly backed militarily by a US presence on the ground. They facilitate a region-wide, Israeli-produced surveillance architecture; new flows of weaponry to repressive states known to target civilians; and trade and investment patterns that promise an authoritarian model of prosperity at the expense of the most vulnerable communities of the region. This is, of course, in addition to the violation of the most basic rights of Palestinian and Sahrawi communities.” The empire is changing its strategy Related Israel-Egypt-EU gas deal

Iran-US: When Friends Fall out

“Even if I’m cut to pieces, the people won’t let your British lackey rule. You slaves!” The Times ran a series, likely drafted by the notorious academic spy Ann Lambton, describing the oil nationalisation crisis as a product of the faulty “Persian character", while “the horse-faced Oriental” Mosaddegh was a hysterical symptom of an old feudal order that couldn’t take responsibility for its own shortcomings. Can the prime minister, a seasoned politician three decades his senior, not see the British themselves are ruthless? That they are trying to starve the people into submission with sanctions? That they provoke the religious fundamentalists who shot him, leaving him with this shattered leg, forever leaning on a cane to just get across a room?
